Černé jezero - The Black Lake is the biggest in the Šumava as for its expanse. Its water covers an area of 18.93 ha, the depth is 40,6 m and it is located 1008 m above the sea level. It has received its name because of the water colour, which seems to be black, since it mirrors the dense forest around. Above the lake there dwarfs a 330 m high lake wall of Jezerní hora (Lake Mountain).
